What Customers are Saying

One of our customers wrote in suggesting that when you're using a great cookbook (like The Inn @ Little Washington Cookbook written by Patrick O'Connell, one of the great chefs in the country)  you use our Fields of Athenry chicken stock as a base.  Not a bad idea!  (Thanks for the tip, M.J., hope your Inn at Little Washington Veal Medallions with English Peas, Country Ham and Fettucine was a hit!)

"Elaine
... baked (300 degree oven) some halibut and salmon over the weekend.  Simply brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper.  It was
delish!  Baked at 300 for about 12 minutes. Thanks for introducing it to your customers!" – A.

"Dear Elaine: Thank you for what you are doing!! We as a
[family] love you and your farm so much! Remember before Christmas Holiday, I bought friends over to share how
         good the
meat you have from your farm, you gave me a  Bernies Beef Broth ... it was so good, I can't believe how nice
[a] job you did with your love.
Thank you ... love you and thank God for what you are doing for others!!" –

"Elaine, you are so kind to remember!  It went fine and the dr. found nothing wrong - thanks be to God.  I was worried, as you could tell. And your beef broth absolutely sustained me for the prep day.  I drank the whole quart throughout the day and never felt hungry. So feel free to recommend it for anyone having to do clear liquids for any reason.  It was so rich that I was kind of waiting for the dr. to ask - what did you eat?  But he said everything was all clear so it can definitely be used for medicinal purposes :). Thanks so much for coming to my rescue!

Take care,
Stacy

[Posted on a recent online discussion: Where is the best place to buy 100% grass fed beef/poultry?]

I get all my beef, poultry, pork, and eggs, etc. at Fields of Athenry in Purcellville, VA. They have a lot of other good products like chicken broth and baked goods. I've tried a few other farms' meats at the farmer's market but this is by far the best and very reasonably priced. They have a few drop offs (one is in Reston) but I drive the hour from my house to go to the farm. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful (even the resident dogs are great!). If you have kids, it's worth the visit for them to see all the animals. Their website is www.fieldsofathenryfarm.com. Hi Elaine,

My name is Randy, I was there for the Dr. Petitt lecture last week (not my first time :). My 7 year-old son, Erik, no longer takes ADHD medication thanks to the nutritional knowledge I have learned from going to your Farm. Erik's Mom and I saw the movie Food Inc. last night. Great show, very informative. They had the owner of PolyFace Farms on there, and I have to say he reminded me a lot of you; larger than life, out there, on a mission! The movie is only showing in Bethesda and D.C. right now, however it is worth the trip!

See you soon,

Randy

Elaine,
Oh my goodness, your lamb is so good! I recently bought six racks of your lamb for my Christmas dinner, preparing them with a mix of olive oil, garlic, pepper, salt, thyme, rosemary and oregano. It was a treat for everyone, even my nephew and niece (10 and 8)! My nephew who doesn't eat anything ate five pieces and last night my niece told me lamb was one of her favorite foods. That was the first time they ate it! I usually get lamb (not often) from Whole Foods. This was my first experience with yours and it was very pleasant. Not too "lamby" ... just perfect! You will be my source from now on! By the way, the Amish butter was delicious too. I'm still working on it - I think I have a pound left from the five that I bought!

Thank you, Elaine and everyone at Fields of Athenry, for providing this delicious and healthy food.

I’m a personal Pilates trainer and have been reading nutrition books that explain the many health benefits of choosing “clean” meats. One of my clients informed me about Fields of Athenry. I decided to visit the farm with my daughter.

The farm is very beautiful and I enjoyed shopping and speaking with Elaine. I purchased beef, chicken, lamb, pork, eggs, Colby cheese, butter, honey, tomatoes, and fresh basil.

My family and I are enjoying all of the delicious food. It feels great knowing that we are eating the best quality, local food.

I will let all of my clients know about Elaine and her wonderful farm. Thank you very much Elaine!

Linda
